Colorado is on the fast track to being a top competitor in global technology. Tech companies in Colorado are booming due to many reasons, but here are some specific big wins for Colorado's capital, Denver, that the Denver Downtown Partnership listed out:
The total number of technology workers in Colorado for 2018 was roughly 293,000 which grew by 7,175 jobs from 2017. Colorado ranks 6th most dense tech state per capita.
In 2018, technology contributed $47.5 billion to the Colorado economy, a $4.1billion dollar/9.5% increase over 2017.
Pretty solid number, and in 2016 Colorado had the second fastest rate of startups created.
This is the number for 2018, BuiltInColorado has a great list of 50 Startups to Watch for 2019.
Even though California, New York, Massachusetts, and Illinois dominate in sheer capital total volume, Colorado has a higher opportunity per capita than all of them.
